Gafar Matanmi Oyeyemi, is a Professor in the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Physical Sciences, University of Ilorin with more than 22 years of university teaching, research, and administrative experience.

He is a member of the Senate and has been serving as members of many Committees of Senate, Faculty and Statutory Boards. He is currently the Head of Department of Statistics. His areas of research interest cover Multivariate Analysis & its Applications and Data Science.

He has successfully supervised many undergraduate Projects, over thirty M.Sc. Dissertations, and twelve (12) Ph.D. theses. He has attended and presented papers in many seminars, conferences and workshops. He has over sixty publications to his credits spanning local, national and international journal outlets.

Prof. Oyeyemi is a member of professional bodies within and outside Nigeria such as Nigeria Statistical Association (NSA), Science Association of Nigeria (SAN), International Biometrics Society (IBS), and International Association of Statistical Computing (IASC).
